Cumasú + Impacte is a cross‑border development programme that inspires change and connects young people aged 18–25 from Dublin and Catalonia. The programme is funded by Erasmus+ and includes nine workshops and two international trips: one to Dublin and one to Barcelona.
The programme provides mentorship, resources and a creative space for young Irish‑speaking participants to launch projects in technology, social entrepreneurship and the arts. It is not just about speaking Irish — it is about using Irish to solve problems, grow audiences and drive lasting change. In partnership with our collaborators, Platforma, Gaeilge365 is empowering a generation to turn ideas into lasting civic and cultural impact, and to make Irish a driving force in Dublin’s future.
Innovation does not happen without collaboration. Cumasú + Impacte builds a cross‑border network of young changemakers, connecting Dublin with Catalonia and using language as a catalyst for impact. Funded by Erasmus+, Gaeilge365 promoted the programme through university fairs, social media, Irish‑language societies, and by contacting Irish‑language offices and lecturers in Dublin universities. An online expression‑of‑interest form was used; there were ten places available in Dublin, twenty applicants were invited to interview, and the final ten were selected.
Gaeilge365 hired a facilitator to lead the workshops in Dublin and organised the visit of the Catalan group to Dublin. Platforma organised the workshops in Barcelona as well as the trip for the Irish participants. These trips greatly broadened the participants’ perspectives, providing structured, international and inspiring experiences for everyone involved.
Each participant is required to complete a practical project as part of the programme, ensuring measurable and visible outcomes. With twenty participants, that means twenty different projects placing Irish and Catalan at the heart of community life.
